I’m someone who really enjoys spring/summer and being outdoors. But since winter has arrived in Michigan and school is in session, I can’t really go outside and enjoy the outdoors as much anymore. The background is an image of the alley in the rain in downtown Ann Arbor which is where I spend many of my days in the summer. The two images of mountains and rocky cliff sides are from a trip to Colorado where my family got to enjoy the different climate of Mount Evans. The picture of the rose and the leaf are meant to represent the spring and outdoors. All the layers that are on top of the background are meant to contrast the different themes and tones of the seasons. The vibrance of spring in contrast to the darkness of winter, using the lighten filter and changing the opacity to give the feel of a memory fading away. And then there is me in the center of it all to signify that this is about me and my interests.

So, seeing as this is my last visual ethnography for this class, I should think that there be a fitting statement to go with it. As you can see, I've come a long way since the first edit, my technical skills have become sharper, and I've gotten significantly better at editing the image itself. The different layer and cropping of my images has gotten cleaner and easier to look at. The image itself looks more cohesive, and with the addition of text over, we add a new layer of technicality on top of everything. The image that I completed at the end of this trimester looks significantly cleaner and well executed in comparison to the one I did at the beginning of the trimester. As you can see, in the second image, there is the distinct difference between me and the image under it (the picture of the balcony), and although there is a distinction between the two, they still have the same border that is created by my outline, and they are still effectively one shape. I think that I've come a long way, and this trimester has been really fun.
